Hotel :
Unspoilt & miraculously unexplored, Poovar Island is a rare find in
Southern Kerala. Enveloped by the most serene backwaters and opening out to
the sea and a dream golden sand beach, in close proximity to Trivandrum,
Poovar is truly a window into paradise.
At the resort only the sound of the waves and the whistling of birds
punctuate the tranquility. The acreage is abundant in well-preserved local
flora, with hundreds of varieties of spices, exotic flowers and dense banana
& coconut groves. The sun god smiles generously on Poovar. Here, time
stopped a few decades ago.
Accommodation at Poovar Island Resort :
For accommodation, there is a choice of traditionally styled land cottages
or more exotic floating cottages constructed on hollow lightweight concrete
hulls. All have air-conditioning & are contemporary security devices &
systems. Colour TVs with a varied choice of International & Indian
channels are available on request.
Dining :
A multi cuisine restaurant with formal dining and some exquisite food &
a coffee shop with casual dining are there to cater to your palettes giving
you a variety of Kerala, North Indian & Continental cuisine.
Barbecue dinners are also arranged by the poolside with live entertainment
twice a week.
The resort also has a Sunken Bar in the swimming pool for those who prefer
to take a dip before the drink & for the less adventurous we will serve
you your drinks at the restaurant or the poolside.
Conference and Banquet facilities :
Our conference hall "Estuary" with a capacity of 100 persons has
a very relaxing ambiance. The ambiance, service & facilities of the
resort are rejuvenating & relaxing. Thus, the resort is an ideal place
for corporate conferences and incentive tours.
Recreation :
The star attraction at our “Island of Smiles” however is the
Ayurveda Ashram. Based on the ancient science of life, Ayurveda is an
immensely successful alternative for total rejuvenation.
There’s a lot to do in idyllic Poovar besides soaking in nature. Laze
on hammocks, sunbathe on the beach, swim in the translucent waters of the
swimming pool, row to a neighbouring fishing village, try your luck on a
fishing expedition or take in a spectacular backwaters sunset cruise.
